As some of you know, I was lucky enough to have mom come and visit me in Honduras for three weeks and, even in that short time, she too developed a connection to the amazing people in the interesting, if somewhat flawed country that I very recently called home. We both decided that we would like to use our bike ride to raise funds and awareness for CAMO, a US-based NGO that does amazing work in providing medical care, supplies, and doctors to the people in the western region of Honduras, where I lived. Mom and I really appreciate your loyal following of our blog, and we would also like to invite you to, if interested, make a financial contribution to our cause. We have set a very lofty fundraising goal of $10,000, which we think we can make, but we need your help. Please feel free to pass the blog and fundraiser information on to your friends, parents, family, co-workers, and anyone else who you think may be interested.
To add an additional incentive to donate, we are offering up a sweet Friends and Family offer. For anyone who donates at least $0.01/mile (one penny per mile for goodness sake!!) for a total of $31.00 (but you are free to donate more than this), We will send a personalized post card from one of the hot destinations along our route. So far we have ridden through historic St. Augustine, FL, America's first city, not-so-historic Greenville, FL, the childhood home of Ray Charles, and an array of even less interesting places.
